Penghu 3-Day 2-Night Itinerary: The Smoothest Plan for First-Timers

The most common question from first-time visitors is "how should I plan it so it flows?" As a local Penghu travel agency, we've turned our most popular 3-day 2-night route into this guide, covering the main-island highlights plus one outlying island without backtracking.

Day 1: Main-island classic loop

After arriving in Magong, drop your luggage at the hotel, then visit Penghu's most iconic sights:

  • Penghu Trans-Ocean Bridge and Tongliang Banyan: landmark photos, plus Tongliang's cactus ice.
  • Dacaiye Columnar Basalt: world-class geology, with dreamy reflections at high tide.
  • Kuibishan Moses' Parting Sea: go according to the day's low-tide time — walking the path through the sea is something special.

In the evening, watch the sunset and Xiying Rainbow Bridge at Guanyin Pavilion, then enjoy seafood and shopping in town.

Day 2: Island-hopping day trip

Spend day two island-hopping. Qimei and Wang'an in the South Sea are the classic choice: Qimei is home to the famous Twin Hearts Stone Weir, while Wang'an is known for green sea turtle conservation and the old houses of Huazhai. If you love the water, head instead to Jibei in the North Sea, with white sand and plenty of water activities.

Day 3: Slow city stroll and souvenirs

Slow down on the last day: visit Juguang Tenth Village, Central Old Street and Tianhou Temple to feel Penghu's history and culture, then pick up brown sugar cake, peanut brittle and other souvenirs before your flight or ferry home.

Tips

Penghu's water season runs from May to September; island-hopping depends heavily on weather, so joining a local tour that tracks tides and sailings is the safest bet. Want the smoothest route tailored for you? Contact us online — departures from just two people.
